رأى السفير الدكتور هيثم ابو سعيد ) الممثل الأعلى لبعثة المجلس الدولي لحقوق الإنسان إلى الأمم المتحدة في جنيف) أن الشرق الأوسط لا يوجد فيه حرية انتخاب ممثليهم في طوائفهم، وإنما هناك تسلّط من قبل البعض الذين يشكلون أكثرية عددية فيها على البعض الآخر الذين يُعتبرون من الأقليات الطائفية وذلك بموجب بعض التشريعات القانونية الانتخابية لضمان اختزال اصوات الأقليات في استحقاقاتهم وتمثيلهم في أي وظيفة على القاعدة المطلوب العمل عليها...
وهذا الأمر يتطلب العودة إلى الدساتير وتعديل بعض منها التي تعطي ضمانة حقيقية لوجود الأقليات بشكل دائم دون الحاجة إلى قيام معركة سياسية عند كل استحقاق...
وأضاف أن هناك برلمانات ومحاكم تخالف وتتراجع بشكل فاضح عن القوانين المصدّق عليها قانوناً ومشرّعة في البرلمانات نتيجة ضغوط سياسية محلية وإقليمية، ويخرج البوم البعض للممارسة إرهاب وقمع فكري وجسدي وسياسي نتيجة تسليط الضوء على هذا الأمر بغية التراجع أو طمث معالم القضايا التي يتم إعلاء الصوت فيها.
وختم الدكتور ابو سعيد أنه بات لزاماً على الأجهزة الدولية الضرب بيدٍ من حديد وتعرية بشكل كامل تلك الدول ووضعها أمام الرأي العام الدولي بغية أخذ الإجراءات اللازمة وفق القوانين الدولية، لحماية الأقليات والنازحين من الاستقواء على الذين لا حول ولا قوة لهم في وجه أنظمة لا تبالي بأبسط وأدنى مستوى من الحقوق...
