طالب السفير الدكتور هيثم ابو سعيد (الممثل الرئيسي لبعثة المجلس الدولي لحقوق الإنسان إلى الأمم المتحدة في جنيف) في مقابلة خاصة لوكالة الأنباء الدولية لحقوق الإنسان بوجوب بحث حلّ الدولتين في فلسطين وإعلان الأخيرة دولة مستقلة بعد أن جاء قرار حق تقرير المصير للشعب الفلسطيني في الجلسة ٥٥ لمجلس حقوق الإنسان التابع للأمم المتحدة والذي حظي بأغلبية ساحقة، حيث صوتت 42 دولة لصالح القرار، مقابل امتناع 3 دول هي: ألبانيا، والأرجنتين، والكاميرون، وانعزلت دولتان بالتصويت ضد وهي البارغواي، والولايات المتحدة. 

واضاف الدكتور ابو سعيد أن هذا الحق هو مكتسب للشعب الفلسطيني على أن يتم بدء العملية الانتخابية برلمانية وانتخاب رئيس لفلسطين لتأخذ مكانها الطبيعي كدولة مستقلة بدل من دولة مراقب في الجمعية العمومية للأمم المتحدة. 

Amb. Dr. Haissam Bou-Said (Chief Representative of the mission of the International Council for Human Rights to the United Nations in Geneva) demanded in an exclusive interview with the International News Agency for Human Rights that the two-state solution in Palestine should be discussed and the latter declared an independent state after the decision on the right to self-determination for the Palestinian people came at the 55th session, as the United Nations Human Rights Council received an overwhelming majority, with 42 countries voting in favor of the resolution, while 3 countries abstained: Albania, Argentina, and Cameroon. Two countries isolated themselves by voting against, namely Paraguay and the United States. 

Dr. Bou-Said added that this right is acquired by the Palestinian people, provided that the parliamentary electoral process begins and a president is elected for Palestine to take its natural place as an independent state instead of an observer state in the United Nations General Assembly.
