The Middle East Commissioner and the Committee's Advisor to the United Nations in Geneva, Ambassador Haitham Abu Said, today telephoned the Minister of Presidential Affairs of the Republic of Lebanon, Salim Jrayssati, congratulating the adoption of the financial budget for 2019.

Ambassador Abu Said said that the budget surplus gives a strong impetus to the work of the government and private foundations. The Cedar project will also mobilize institutions and associations and promote effective participation between the two sectors and integration between the state and civil society. This is noted in the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) .

The Ambassador concluded that President Michel Aoun has begun to achieve his reform project and enjoys the support of the international institutions and committees because of this positive impact on the regularity of community work.
